Welcome to Sicily, where you can get up close to some of Europe’s most magnificent volcanoes. Students’ resilience will be put to the test as they ascend the mighty Mount Etna by 4×4 jeep and on foot. Trekking across the smoking hulk of Europe’s highest active volcano is nothing short of a triumph and a memory that students will never forget.
Whilst Mount Etna may be the ‘star of the show’ the volcanic activity doesn’t end there! The stunning Aeolian Islands of Vulcano and Stromboli allow students to hike up volcanoes, bathe in mud puddles and dip their toes in the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea.
And when you’re ready to slow the pace down a little, trek along side the icy waters of the stunning Alcantara Gorge or head to the spectacular hill-top town of Taormina, the perfect place to soak up the culture, souvenir shop and try some delicious Italian delicacies.
