TripAdvisor have just released their list of the best theme parks in the world 2019, and it’s another clean sweep for Orlando, Florida!
The list contained the best 25 theme parks in the world, but let’s take a look at some of Rayburn’s favourite spots and where they rank on the list;
Orlando
It’s no secret that Orlando is home to some of the best amusement parks in the world, with a huge range of attractions for the little ‘uns like the Disney’s Magic Kingdom, through to sheer adrenaline junkies with Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Storming in at 1st place, Islands of Adventure has taken the top spot for the 5th year in a row and it’s easy to see why. Combining fully immersive Harry Potter & Jurassic Park themed experiences with unbeatable thrill rides like The Incredible Hulk Coaster.
Magic Kingdom Park
The first of the 4 theme parks to open at Walt Disney World Resort, Magic Kingdom park captures the enchantment of fairy tales with exciting entertainment, classic attractions, beloved Disney Characters and so much more. Rated #2 in the world, Magic Kingdom will remain the ultimate Disney fan’s paradise.
Typhoon Lagoon
You can’t visit Orlando without heading to one of its many water parks, Typhoon lagoon was rated #5 in the world’s best water parks, with an enormous wave pool, more water slides than you can shake a stick at and a lazy river for when it all gets a bit too much.
Other top parks in Florida include Busch Gardens, Hollywood Studios, Aquatica and Volcano Bay.
UAE
With average temperatures soaring above 40C in the summer months, a tour to the Dubai & Abu Dhabi could definitely benefit from some time to cool off, so there’s no wonder that the United Arab Emirates is more prominent in the water park sector than theme parks,
Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark
#2 on the list of the world’s best waterparks, Atlantis is a whopping 17 hectares in the shadow of the famous 5* hotel of the same name. Home to record breaking water slides including the 9 story ‘Leap of Faith’ and Dubai’s largest aquarium with 65,000 marine animals to admire, Atlantis has something for everyone.
Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi
Another great offering, you can combine with Ferrari World for an adrenaline filled day in the sun. A respectable 14th place on the list shows that the Emiratis know how to build a good theme park!
Europe
You don’t have to go long haul to experience the best parks in the world, as the top 25 is littered with European parks with just as much to offer as our friends over the pond.
Disneyland Paris
Possibly the most accessible top level theme park on the list, Disneyland gives all the thrills & theatre of its stateside big brother at a fraction of the cost. That’s not to say that you’ll compromise on experience, Disneyland ranked #11 on this year’s list.
Efteling, The Netherlands
The perfect addition to a trip to Holland, Efteling is a fantasy themed park drawing from local legends & folklore, creating a unique & memorable day out. This relatively little known park really packs a punch and is a real bargain!
