As Boris Johnson announced that school closures would be one of the latest measures to delay the spread of the Coronavirus, parents across the country began to look for ways to keep their kids entertained, focused, learning and active.
The Body Coach’s Joe Wicks took to social media this morning to announce that, as of Monday, he will become the nation’s PE teacher. Every day, Monday to Friday, at 9am, you can tune into his YouTube channel for a live workout “designed specifically for kids, from little ones right up to secondary school”.
It will be a 30-minute workout consisting of basic exercises that don’t require any equipment and can be done in just a small space. What another great idea from Joe Wicks!
This is just the latest of Joe Wick’s initiatives to get the nation’s kids moving. In 2019, he embarked on a 5-day UK Hiit Tour of schools across the UK. Travelling over 1,000 miles, he inspired over 10,000 children, parents and teachers to get active. All the while, he was promoting the evidence that there is a positive link between physical activity and improved academic achievement.
Whilst his plans for a 2020 UK Hiit Tour may now be on hold, that hasn’t stopped him finding other ways to get kids moving – and it seems we need that now more than ever!
So, 9am on Monday, tune in to Body Coach TV on YouTube and get your kids moving! Spread the word!
