Community Choirs

Sing your heart out!

The beauty of community choirs… All you need is your voice!

We all sing in the car, the shower, on our walk to work to beat the Monday blues, but nothing is better than coming together in a community choir! Jam-packed with that electric kind of energy, they offer people the chance to step away from their usual routine and up the tempo! Being a member of a choir opens SO many doors — it’s a time to sing to the world and travel abroad to experience different cultures, connect with new audiences and most importantly, create and develop friendships. Members reflect on these high notes with a whole heart!

Who doesn’t love to sing?

Headshot of Leigh Rafferty Tour Consultant at Rayburn Tours

Leigh Rafferty- Tour Consultant

Leigh Rafferty, Tour Consultant at Rayburn Tours, became a part of the choir world at a very young age. Singing meant a lot to her as she explained it was “a skill that she treasured.” Here’s her experience in a nutshell…

“I grew up in a choir, I started at a young age and was part of the choir community until I was 15. Choirs open up a variety of opportunities members would never think of doing themselves. We got invited to all kinds of events, Christmas shows, theatres in cities, ship launches, I didn’t even know they did ship launches and now I can say I’ve sung at one!”

Stephanie Bostock- Senior Tour Operator

Stephanie Bostock, Senior Tour Operator at Rayburn Tours, has recently joined a lady’s choir in her local village, and we caught up with her to see what made her want to start singing again…

“I’ve been in my local ladies’ choir a year and a half now. I’ve always enjoyed singing and sang in my university choir etc., so wanted to take this up again! I really enjoy getting together with like-minded people who are also passionate about singing and music, and the opportunity to perform in summer and Christmas concerts (I do solos as well).”

Tour Managers

All our trips are designed to work successfully as independently led tours, but sometimes it’s nice to have a helping hand, and someone to help get your audience going! Our Tour Managers can provide on-hand support and ensure your trip runs smoothly, making life that little bit easier and the rhythm that little bit better!

This was our first choir trip to the Edinburgh Fringe & along with Rayburn Travel, and the weekend went better than anyone could have hoped or even dreamed of. Rayburn arranged the accommodation, venues, coach travel and the group meal, all of which were first class. Having the accompanying support of a Tour Manager from Rayburn for the weekend was a great comfort and help and nothing was too much trouble
